Prince of Autumn

Today at school Anders collected the leave to adorn his crown. Then, after school, the Prince of Autumn and his dad took over the school play yard.

The Littlest Chef

Ryan got this little hat for Anders. This morning he wanted to wear it and then decided to take his fig into his room to cut it in his kitchen. This was not staged! Cute, right?

Cutting the fig.

He then popped the fig in a pan, put the lid on and slipped it in the "oven." He made sure to tell me it was hot!

Trying Something New

This weekend we decided it was time to see if Hazel would ride in the Burley bike trailer. She didn't love it, but didn't jump out, so we all went to Cathedral Park to play in the river.

All suited up and ready to go!

There was a man blowing bubbles with a bubble wand next to the water. It was like baby and hippie bait.

Taking in the sights.

Playing fetch!

Reading at the Table

Lately Anders has been insisting on being read to as soon as he wakes. He has also been really into the fairy tale book Nana gave him. He actually sits through a few stories at a time!

On wednesday, we were pressed for time because I was headed to Seattle early. Anders was distraught at the idea that we needed to put the book down and eat. So, we compromised and let him read at the table. I hope that he continues his love for books and we have to reevaluate the privilege later. Greta, I'll consult with you about the effects of book reading policies later.

Shoe Horse

Anders was super excited about trying shoes while we were getting ready for our date night on Saturday. He was especially thrilled about trying on mama's shoes. It was amazing he could actually walk in them!

Oh ho, Idaho!

We spent a fabulous weekend in Sandpoint, ID, with Cory, Amber and their boys. It took Anders about two hours to completely loosen up and then fit right into the tribe of Hatcher boys.

Departing the plane in Spokane.

We ran into this!!

Ryan and Cory went mountain biking. This is the view from the top of Schweitzer.

Anders and Hudson enjoyed a ride outside the grocery store (Who knew they still had these, and for free!).

Busy boys and their dads'.

Anders took a break from his stack of Highlights "Hello" to read a Scandinavian mystery with Ryan. He was a great flyer, yet again.
